Andy Brooks II has completed a unique digital music project called The Complete Works of Andy Brooks II. The Monroe Business News Team explored each album, showing how Andy’s personal experiences and relationships inspired instrumental compositions created entirely with MIDI, using mainly saxophone and violin.
About the Project
All of Andy’s music is instrumental. The saxophone represents his personal voice as a musician, while the violin reflects the influence of a former girlfriend. The theme of Partners revolves around all of Andy’s ex-girlfriends’ partners. Using saxophone and violin as the main voices, the album explores relationships, past experiences, and emotional complexity without words.
5. Retrograde
Retrograde is reflective and nostalgic. Saxophone leads with violin accompaniment create cinematic, emotional soundscapes, showing Andy’s ability to tell stories purely through instrumental music.

Inspired by a girl named Nina who motivated Andy to continue playing the saxophone, N1N4 blends saxophone melodies with subtle violin lines to create intimate and encouraging compositions, highlighting personal perseverance and inspiration.

The final album, Neighbors, draws inspiration from Andy’s own community. Saxophone leads tell small stories of everyday life, while violin adds atmosphere and emotion, reflecting the personalities and interactions of his neighbors.
